Cory Morrow

Cory Morrow

Listen to Cory Morrow's music and you've got a pretty good idea of the man, because this is one singer who just can't fake it. When Cory Morrow s sings about the emotionally charged break-up of a relationship- you believe him. When he sings about night-life good timing- you trust he's been there. When he shares wisdom- you know he's earned it. Because if any single word sums up a performer as multifaceted as Cory Morrow, it's "Authentic."

The outspoken Texan must be onto something. The Man That I’ve Been, his critically acclaimed and radio friendly second album, has been singled out by his fans as the "breakthrough album for a truly talented Texas musician."

Cory Morrow started playing guitar while he was a student at Memorial High School, in west suburban Houston. While attending Texas Tech University, Cory studied the lyrics and musical groove of fellow Texas musician Robert Earl Keen, inhaled the subtle nuances of his lyrical patterns, and embraced the fact that Keen did not have a definite method to his writing. It was the unpredictable patterns of Keen’s music that became a vital part of Morrow’’s musical foundation.

No doubt about it, Cory Morrow is one of Texas music’s hottest stars. He has had the opportunity to perform with dozens of musical greats like Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Jerry Jeff Walker, David Allan Coe, and Robert Earl Keen. There is also no doubt that his demeanor is the polar opposite of what most would associate with being "a star." He is at once charming, unassuming and affable. No arrogance, no standoffishness and if he carries any psychological baggage, it is certainly well hidden. One thing that he doesn’t hide, however, is the prodigious musical gift that has made him one of the brightest new recording artists on the Texas music horizon.
