TwangCast-Take Country Back Join Forces,Create Online Destination For Real Country Music

AUSTIN, TX. (Jan. 1, 2006) – A new day has dawned for lovers of real country music. The merger of TwangCast and Take Country Back – two beloved Internet sites that value substance over style, honesty over calculation, and talent over the cookie- cutter mentality of much Music Row “product” – officially takes place today.

It’s the perfect marriage of music and content, creating a comprehensive, one-stop online destination for those who not only want to listen to and learn about, but also experience real country music at its gritty, unvarnished best. Fans of both TwangCast and Take Country Back will find more great music and content than ever before.

TCB “Our intent is to take the energy and passion generated individually by both TwangCast and TCB and direct it toward a common goal: supporting and promoting the music,” says Laurie Joulie, Canadian- based editor who launched Take Country Back in 2001. The site, whose logo includes the defiant slogan “Too country and proud of it!” is devoted to reviews of country music that respects the genre’s history and traditions. Supported by an impressive international team of staff writers and contributors TCB soon grew to hundreds of pages of content. Then came an e-mail newsletter with an international subscriber base, followed by a 24/7 webcast and, finally, a quarterly print magazine enjoyed by music fans, radio and music industry folks.
