New Range Rover 2018: Design, Specs, Price, and Release Date - For years, Land Rover’s Range Rover has been becoming an unbeatable vehicle classified into the luxury Sport Utility Vehicle. Even nowadays, it is not an easy job to beat the fourth Range Rover’s model when it comes to the competition of becoming a Sport Utility Vehicle which offers off-roading potential yet luxury appearance. Still, JLR refuses to take a rest and to be lulled by its achievement. Instead, the manufacturer will soon update the cruiser.
It is considerably a smart decision because later or sooner, JLR’s rivals like Bentley, Mercedes-Maybach, Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce are ready to compete, due to the demand for SUVs increasing over the past decades.
Design and Specs
One of the interior’s facilities of the upcoming New Range Rover 2018 is a two 10-inch touch screen displays integrated as its infotainment system. The system is firstly integrated and introduced in the 2018 Range Rover Velar. Not only the touchschreen display, but a steering wheel control has also been updated.
Move to the exterior, we can see that not only are a new grille and a newly-designed front bumper installed on the outside part of the car, but some tweaks to the lights are also placed at both ends. The wheel pattern which cannot be found in the previous generation of Range Rover does appear in the new model’s wheel.
As its warning stickers placed on both front and rear windshields suggest, the prototype is a Range Rover electrified version. In some markets, JLR has already tried to promote a diesel-electric hybrid version of both Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. However, this version is considered as a newly designed plug-in hybrid model which employ a straight-four gasoline engine.
Back in 2015, the JLR company observed the concept of Range Rover Sport’s e PHEV technology. The concept promotes an electric motor placed in a small space between the engine and transmission. They also powered the motor with a lithium-ion battery which then allow you not only to travel in the car on its own, but also to assist the gas engine during high-load condition. You can operate the vehicle efficiently with the help of an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car’s off-road power is undeniable, thanks to the full-time 4WD system which also ensure your safety on the slippery road.
There is no change demanded for the other Powertrain lineup. There are some engine options offered to come with the Range Rover, and all of them has 4-wheel and eight speed automatic drive. First, you can choose a three-liter supercharged V-6 which reaches up to 340-horsepower. Second, you are offered a three-liter turbocharged V-6 diesel with 254-horsepower.
