Eddy Raven - Living in Black and White

With a career that's spanned over 31 years, 21 Top 10 songs - 7 of which made it to the top spot - Eddy Raven's 'Living In Black and White', his first studio release in 3 years, demonstrates that his country roots are firmly intact and his career, well established and his fan base, enduring.

Eddy's career began as a teenager in Louisiana,  where the music he sang and wrote found a solid foundation in his Cajun roots, sprinkled with an influence of blues and preference for strong southern country rock backbeats. It wasn't long before his talent would bring him to the attention of Opry star and Jimmy C. Newman who invited Eddy to Nashville. Acuff-Rose was quick to sign him up as a staff writer, and Eddy soon began writing hit songs for celebrated artists such as Don Gibson, Jeannie C Riley, Roy Orbison, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Lynn Anderson, Johnny Cash and Brenda Lee and many more.

His latest CD, his first for the RMG label, is of a quality we've come to expect from Eddy. The album is an eclectic mix of traditional country ballads, Cajun/Zydeco, Caribbean and southern rock styles that effectively demonstrate Raven's diverse abilities as a songwriter and singer.

Highlights include the initial single "Cowboys Don't Cry". Eddy kicked off the millennium with its release, complimenting it with an accompanying video. While the song was well received and critically noted, its debut at number 50 and subsequent peak at 45 on Gavin's G2 chart was far short of its potential. The video has accumulated over 8000 plays on multiple video shows across the US and still continues to receive support from Great American Country (GAC).

The album's next single, Living in Black and White,  is sure to grab the attention of country radio again this summer with its light, Caribbean feel.

Not likely to rest on his laurels, Eddy always has more than one iron in the fire. Although he continues to record, tour and write, he has a new building on Music Row that houses his interests in a studio, publishing companies and a booking agency. With 30 ASCAP songwriting awards under his belt and 22 albums with his name, "Living In Black and White" sets the record straight, Eddy Raven's still in the running.
