Track List
Speak Of The Devil
|
(self release) Kevin's second solo self
released album is a mixed bag of styles, all self written, and sung with
a pleasing ragged delivery to his voice.
"I Found Out The Hard Way" and "Hellbent For
a Heartache" are delightful honky tonk two-steppers. "Butterbean" is a
rollicking western swing number, that wouldn't sound out of place on a
George Strait album.
The ballads, "If These Old Walls Could Talk"
and "Penny For Your Thoughts" benefit from the "catch" in
Kevin's mournful, slightly ragged vocals, and though they veer closer to
mainstream radio fare, the songwriting and delivery are a cut above.
Kevin delivers hard driving, "good ol' boy"
tunes with, "100% Texan" and the title track "Beer, Bait and Ammo"- a
song that will make anybody that loves songs like "Redneck Mother" stand
up and sing along.
Beer, Bait and Ammo is Kevin's breakthrough,
which has produced hits for him on the Texas Music chart, and made him
one of the hottest artists on the Texas circuit today. With this CD,
it's not hard to see why.
