
THE COAST-TO-COAST COUNTRY CELEBRATION IS SET TO ROCK CALGARY
CALGARY, Alberta, Canada (August 30, 2001)‹ Canadian Country Music
industry executives and fans alike are preparing to participate in what promises
to be the pinnacle of the Canadian Country Music Year. Celebrating its
25th Anniversary, the Canadian Country Country Music Awards Show 2001
will take place September 10th, at Pengrowth Saddledome, Calgary.
Anne Murray, Ricky Skaggs and Chely Wright have been
confirmed to deliver special live performances as part of the CCMA¹s 25th
Anniversary celebration. Gordon Lightfoot will make a guest
appearance as he is recognized with the Canadian Country Music Association¹s
highest honor; his induction into the CCMA Hall of Fame.
Other artists confirmed to perform on the show include rising Canadian Country
Music star and fan-favorite
Adam Gregory and the 2001 Fans¹ Choice Award nominees: Paul
Brandt, Terri Clark, Carolyn Dawn Johnson,
Jason McCoy and The Wilkinsons.
The two-hour show will be broadcast live on CBC Television, and on CMT
in the U.S. The CCMA Awards Show continues to be Canada¹s only annual
music awards show to be broadcast live both Canada and the United States.
The Awards show closes the Year 2001 Country Music Week in Calgary. Held
from September 7 through the 10th, Country Music Week is four days of live music
and many special events for fans and industry members. For details on
