A recent newpaper article asked "Women of Country, Where Art Thou?" While some male artists can rejuvenate an entire career on their political opinion, it appears that the industry has a double standard as the Dixie Chicks have virtually disappeared from country charts over the past year.

The perpetual trouble with mainstream promotion and development of artists and their careers is the tendency of the industry to put all the eggs into one basket -- and in the end we ended up "Gretchen Wilsoned" to death.
